I'm looking out the window at the interminable drizzle as I make lists in my head about what I should be taking with me. I've already made actual written lists but you can never rely on those. The kids are all still asleep. Two hours left and the five of us and the Pooch will be confined to the car for 6 hours - or more! Notebooks
Reading books
Computer
Memory stick
I'm on my way to the Atlantic coast of England for a week. In my opinion it's the best bit. It reminds me of home. Millions of years ago it probably was attached to Ireland but we grew apart. Still the landscape remembers the wild days - the rugged, windswept, squally days of yore. However I'm hoping for summer breezes for the next week. And sunshine. Blue skies and fluffy white clouds would be just the ticket, thank you.
Chargers - phone and computer.
Glasses - (on face)
Sunglasses - (soon to be on face once we drive out of this cloud)
I'm hoping for a relaxing week. The beach, reading and a bit of writing. This isn't one of those doing things holidays. I want to come home from this one without feeling the need for a holiday.
As long as I remember everything now that's what it'll be.
Bags packed (must remember to pack underwear)
Towels - (beach and bathroom)
PENS!! - DO NOT FORGET PENS!
Dog stuff - bed, bowls, food, blankie, lead, towels
Beach things - boogie boards, wetsuits, buckets, spades, windbreaks, chairs, tent
Picnic stuff
Rug
Now first things first. I must get up and get dressed. Breakfast. Start making piles of stuff.
What else?
Oh yeah - the kids. I suppose I'd better bring them too.
See you in a week.

Have a lovely week. I'll look forward to hearing about it when you get back.
Enjoy your holiday! Sounds marvelous!
Oh I hope you have a great holiday week!
The relaxing 'not doing things' kind of vacation is so great. I just got back from one, and while we did plenty of things, we had enough down time to relax by the beach and chill out that I came back refreshed and ready to face reality.
Have fun! Can't wait to hear about it!
Oh, have fun!
Sounds like a wonderful retreat! I hope the trip goes smoothly, too.
Erm, maybe it's a British vs American lingo thingy, but, rug??
(I'm picturing an 8'x10' carpet rolled up and tied to the roof of the car...)
:D
Ooo, have fun! That sounds absolutely lovely. Wishing for good weather for you:)
Hope it's a grand time for all!
Have a lovely time! I hope we get photos when you are back.
There's nothing that freaks me out more than realizing I've left the house without any pens. Usually there's 6...or 7....or more in my purse... :)
Sounds wonderful - I love the coastline of Britain.
Hope you have a wonderful time just being there.
Have fun!! Hope you post pics!!
:-)
make sure the list is a complete one, but even then if you forget about something its not such a big deal, is it?
have a wonderful time and enjoy your holiday.
PS: just popped in accidentally but couldnt not comment and wish you a great time :)
Don't sweat. Even if you leave the kids, they'll just thwart some burglars and a movie would be made over them. All would be good. :D :D
Have a great time. Don't get too drunk... on second thughts, do get drunk and write another drunk post! :)
Hello everyone! I'm back! Thanks for leaving your lovely comments while I've been away. It warms the cockles of my heart to come home to them. I remembered everything but didn't manage to do any writing while I was away - far too busy enjoying myself. I will do a post with pictures very soon. Just need to prioritize organizing the new organized me.
I am an oasis of calm. I am a homemaking goddess. My life is neat and tidy. I am a wonderful writer. OOooommmm.
